Restoration Facades Palazzo Madama

Rome, 1992

Restoration and enhancement of the facades of Palazzo Madama, seat of the Senate of the Republic. The project plans to intervene on the historic windows through the cleaning of the paint up to find the live wood. We then proceeded to the replacement of the broken or damaged parts, then the laying of a primer, the complete grouting and sanding, the treatment against woodworm and mushrooms and enamel painting, of any color, in at least two coats and in any case to complete cover, with final sealing of sealing against meteoric infiltrations. The new windows are made of laminated wood, thus respecting the criterion of distinguishability and reversibility of the intervention, but still returning the potential unit of the historical artifact.
